Network Attached Storage
Managing large data volumes does not always require the implementation and indeed the expenditure on a SAN. If the requirement is to centrally house flat files that are non- database related, then Network Attached Storage provides a sound solution.
NAS allows for the disk array to be directly attached to the LAN, without the need for any additional connectivity. Suited best for environments that require a repository of flat data that must be available to both users, and servers on the network.
