Case Study - R C Treatt & Co.

The Client
A world leader in the supply of flavour and fragrance ingredients, RC Treatt & Co. does business in over 80 countries. Treatt sources rare and exotic essential oils, natural specialties, aroma chemicals and other goods from around the world to make up its unique range of products. RC Treatt & Co has manufacturing sites in Bury St. Edmunds in the UK, and Lakeland, Florida, in the USA.

The Problem
· Implementation of a JD Edwards Business Intelligence System at the UK manufacturing site in Bury St. Edmunds which could be accessed from the UK and the USA.
· Deployment of the JD Edwards One World Client to 100 workstations in the UK and the USA.

Our Solution
Genisys delivered a complex set of hardware and software pre-requisites specified by Whitehouse, which included a SQL 2000 Enterprise server clustered on a Storage Area Network. As a key component, Citrix facilitated
· easy deployment of the JD Edwards One World Client to the user community
· quick addition and deployment of updates to the One World Client
· efficient running in a low bandwidth environment
· centralised control and administration of remote users
· scalability, and the ability to add users and servers to increase capacity

We implemented four Citrix Metaframe Presentation Servers running on Windows 2000 server on Compaq hardware, and integrated them with the existing Windows 2000 Active Directory Structure. The JD Edwards One World Client was published with a number of group policies activated to control usage. As further value-additions, other standard applications like MS Exchange were installed.
